College football completely lost its mind in Week 7.
Seth Dowdle recaps one of the wildest Saturdays the sport has produced in years, beginning with BYU’s statement win over No. 2 Notre Dame in Provo. Bear Bachmeier delivered one of the biggest performances of his career, and the Cougars proved they belong in the national conversation after straight-up outplaying one of the best teams in the country.
From there, the chaos only grows. Ohio State survives Indiana in Bloomington, but Julian Sayin leaves with an injury that could completely alter the Buckeyes’ season. Miami escapes Florida State in double overtime after a bizarre finish, while the SEC descends into total madness with Florida beating Texas, Auburn stunning Georgia and Tennessee dominating Alabama in Knoxville.
The show also gets into Kentucky’s continued rise, Ole Miss rolling past Missouri, Houston winning a Big 12 shootout against Oklahoma State and UCLA somehow emerging as the lone unbeaten team in the Big Ten. Then it’s rapid fire through the rest of a Saturday that seemingly refused to produce a normal football game.
