On this episode of After Saturday, Seth Dowdle recaps one of the wildest college football weekends of the season, starting in Tuscaloosa where Georgia survived Alabama 20-17 in a game filled with controversy, missed calls and just enough late-game chaos to leave both fan bases with plenty to talk about. From there, it’s off to the Cotton Bowl, where Oklahoma stunned No. 1 Texas despite being thoroughly outgained, capitalizing on turnovers and special-teams mistakes to steal a 27-24 win in another classic edition of the Red River Rivalry.
Then comes UCLA’s completely ridiculous 17-15 win over Oregon, a game that featured 10 total turnovers and seven from the Ducks alone, as the Bruins remained unbeaten despite losing Nico Iamaleava to injury. Seth also breaks down Kentucky’s gutsy overtime win over LSU, Indiana surviving Nebraska, USC finally getting a much-needed win over Penn State and the fallout from Texas A&M’s brutal loss to Missouri.
The show closes with Friday-night takeaways, a look at the AP Top 25 fallout and a rapid-fire trip through the rest of the country, including ACC chaos, a Big 12 that’s beginning to separate itself and the latest movement in the Group of Six.
