After Saturday: Texas Survives Ole Miss, BYU Falls to UCF & More Insane Week 8 Results

I risked the health of my back to record this podcast episode.

Another Saturday, another completely ridiculous day of college football. Seth Dowdle is back for After Saturday, this time recording from an Airbnb sauna (and eventually a bed), to make sense of one of the wildest weekends of the 2026 season.

Texas survived Ole Miss 34-27 after blowing a 21-point lead, while UCF stunned No. 2 BYU in double overtime following one of the strangest endings imaginable. Cincinnati took down Texas Tech, South Carolina walked off Tennessee, and the Big 12’s playoff picture has officially descended into chaos.

In the Big Ten, Indiana survived Michigan in a 13-6 overtime thriller that somehow managed to be both incredibly boring and wildly entertaining. Minnesota beat Iowa, Wisconsin embarrassed USC, and Oregon’s season continued to collapse with another miserable defeat against Illinois. Plus, Alabama rallied past Texas A&M, LSU crushed Auburn, and Miami continued looking like the best team in the country.

Seth also runs through UCLA’s undefeated start, Kentucky’s remarkable 7-1 record, Utah’s victory over Houston and the growing list of coaches feeling the heat. With Dave Doeren and Mike Locksley already out, could Sonny Dykes, Dave Aranda or another struggling coach be next?
