The NFC East somehow managed to produce one of the great collective disaster classes of the NFL season, and Seth Dowdle has plenty to say about it on this episode of After Sunday.
Dallas lost at home to the previously winless Buccaneers, Philadelphia somehow blew a lead with eight seconds remaining against Jacksonville, and Washington let the clock expire with a chance to beat the Giants in overtime. Seth breaks down exactly how all three disasters happened, what the numbers say about each team and why the NFC East might be heading toward an even stranger season than anyone expected.
Then, we finally get to some good football. The 49ers and Seahawks delivered a seven-turnover NFC West thriller that came down to a controversial fourth-down spot, while Baltimore survived Atlanta 30-23 in overtime behind Tyler Huntley and Derrick Henry despite playing without Lamar Jackson.
Finally, it’s time for I Got a Question. Can Ben Johnson really send Tyson Bagent back out there after the Bears’ disaster against Green Bay? Is the Deshaun Watson “honeymoon” already over in Cleveland? Is it time for Fernando Mendoza in Las Vegas? And just how broken are Justin Herbert and the 0-5 Chargers?
