Seth's Saturday Watchlist: 11/2/24
There's so much sports and so little time, especially on Saturdays.
Saturdays are sacred. It's the one day of the week, especially in the fall and winter, when I am fully at peace. No work. No stress. Just sports.
During the college football season, I try to jam-pack as many games into my viewing schedule as possible. That task is already difficult to manage, but once October and November roll around, it becomes almost impossible. The MLB, NHL, NBA, and college football compete for my attention simultaneously. How in the world do I manage all that?
For the last several years, I've created a solution. Every Friday evening–say around 11:30 PM–I sculpt a schedule for the following day in my head. The mental gymnastics usually go like this:
What am I watching in the early window? What is on the primary screen, and what is on the rest? Wait, how many screens do I need? Crap, I don't think I have enough screens. Will my WiFi even be able to handle all that streaming? Wow, this is unorganized.
You're right, me from the past. It is unorganized. It's way too unorganized for the fine people that read this SubStack. That's why I've created this post. Today is going to be a glorious day of sports, and it's important to know what to watch and when to watch it. Without further ado, here's what I'm watching today.

As the great Josh Pate says, November is the longest month of the college football season. Teams in contention will face their toughest tests of the year. Teams in contention for the first time in a long time will have to show resolve they haven't had to unleash in a while. It's a fascinating month.
The first college football Saturday in November has the potential to be volcanic. There's really only one eye-popping matchup, but there are land mines all over the place. If everybody comes out of today unscathed it'll be a minor miracle.
The evening window this week is especially tantalizing to me because I'll be in attendance for one of the games! An entourage of TCU fans and I are making the short journey down to Waco to watch our Frogs take on Baylor. I do not know who will win the game. All I know is that the last time TCU was in Waco, magic happened. (Skip to 3:41 in the video below for a peak at one of my happiest sports memories.)
For those who are waiting for Part 4 of the 1948 World Series recaps, don't worry! It'll be coming back soon. I wished to post it on Wednesday before the final game of this year's Fall Classic, but life got in the way; it's been an incredibly busy several days. So, stay tuned for that. I didn't forget about it, I promise.
