Welcome back to the Corner Poll, the place where I’m consistently wrong yet still ask you to trust me when it comes to ranking football teams.

The basic premise of this ranking remains the same: This is less about determining who would beat whom on a neutral field and more about how I feel about every team at this exact moment, which is probably a dangerous amount of power to give one person. Results obviously matter, but so do expectations, how those results happened and whether I’ve spent the last month convincing myself a team is something it very clearly is not.

There is no formula here, and after seeing what happens whenever somebody tries to create an objective way to rank football teams, I’m increasingly convinced that’s for the best.
