Welcome to the Corner Poll, the only sports ranking that prioritizes my general emotions over stats and facts and all that jargon that keeps people better than me up at night. I don’t have time for spreadsheets! Those are boring and bland. Give me all the vibes.
And that’s essentially what the Corner Poll is. It’s a ranking of how I feel about a team in that specific moment, based mostly on emotions. Yes, winning and stats and those terrible facts play a role, but it’s marginal. Outside factors such as fan sentiment are integral factors in the ranking. Whether that’s a sound strategy is up for you to decide. For me, it works great in helping me parse through how the season is progressing.
