The Champions League is back, and The Matchbook has you covered.
Before turning our attention to Europe, we have a loaded Premier League weekend to discuss. Arsenal takes down Chelsea to remain perfect, Manchester United drops more points after a wild finish at Everton, Hull City somehow still hasn’t conceded a goal and Liverpool finally gets the Alexander Isak performance it has been waiting for. Plus, Bournemouth blows another late lead, Crystal Palace and Fulham give us absolute chaos and Tottenham still — somehow — has not scored a Premier League goal.
Then, it’s time for the Champions League.
I break down how the competition works for anyone joining us for the first time before diving into the games you need to watch on Matchday 1. Real Madrid hosts Inter Milan, Liverpool gets Atletico Madrid, Arsenal travels to Napoli and Manchester City heads to Porto. We’re also keeping an eye on some of the best stories in the entire competition, including Como’s first Champions League campaign and nine-year-old Sabah getting the chance to walk into Old Trafford and play Manchester United.
The Champions League anthem is about to start playing again. Life is good.
