It’s such a shame that Luke Jackson, of all people, is the only player wearing 77 in the DFW Metroplex right now. What should’ve been a number heralded as Luka Dončić’s in this town has instead been relegated to a subpar relief pitcher for the Texas Rangers. How? Why?
Jackson was signed 18 days after Dončić was traded to the Lakers, and at the time, he was hyped up to be the Rangers’ new closer. That’s the role he started the season with, but as the year has progressed, it’s become abundantly clear that Jackson just doesn’t have what it takes to pitch in clutch situations late in games.
