Every Thursday, we’re breaking down the biggest games, storylines and narratives from the upcoming weekend across the NFL, college football and soccer. And for the inaugural episode, we could not have asked for a much more ridiculous slate.
Texas and Ohio State meet in Austin for one of the biggest games of the entire college football season, while Michigan tries to move past the Western Michigan controversy against Oklahoma. LSU and the SEC are fighting about seemingly everything, Boise State and Memphis could be playing an early Group of Six elimination game and Texas A&M finally gets its first real test against Arizona State.
In the NFL, Josh Allen and the Bills begin their Super Bowl-or-bust campaign against a terrifying Houston defense, the Cowboys attempt to convince me that this year will somehow be different, Patrick Mahomes returns against a Denver team with legitimate Super Bowl expectations and I have once again talked myself into the Chicago Bears.
Then we head to England for the Manchester derby, Tottenham’s ongoing attempt to score a Premier League goal, Arsenal’s trip to Sunderland and Hull City’s attempt to keep the magic going against Chelsea.
